C.1.3. Reliability

C.1.3. Reliability
C.1.3. Economic Pillar - Local Economy Development - Reliability

Why does this matter?

This indicator ensures that claims of support for local social or environmental projects are credible and transparent.

It helps show that the tour operator's contributions are real and clearly communicated to customers.

How is this measured?

The score is based on a checklist of requirements. Each requirement met increases the score.

The final result is the percentage of requirements fulfilled, with higher scores indicating greater transparency and reliability.

What does it take into account?

It checks whether the operator provides clear and verifiable information about the projects it supports. Checklist includes:

  • Working with a local NGO in the tour area.
  • Providing information about the support before purchase.
  • Clearly identifying the supported projects.
  • Explaining the results or impact of the support.
  • Stating the share of tour revenue that goes to the project.
  • Ensuring the information is updated within the last 12 months.
  • Providing a link to the NGO or independent verification.
