  1. Day1 Castelo Rodrigo

    Transfer from Porto Airport to Castelo Rodrigo.
    Bike fit and trip orientation.
    The historical village of Castelo Rodrigo as a whole is a genuine location of monuments preserving important medieval references.
    Overnight in Castelo Rodrigo.

  2. Day2 Cycling Tour 1: Loop Castelo Rodrigo | Almeida (52,5 km)

    Today you will visit another Portuguese Historical village. Just a few kilometers from Castelo Rodrigo, you will ride along the principal road to Almeida.
    Located in a vast high plain overlooking the Côa River, Almeida was one of the most important strongholds in Portugal during Modern Age.

  3. Day3 Cycling Tour 2: Castelo Rodrigo | Juízo (29,8 km)

    Leaving Castelo Rodrigo behind, you will cycle to Aldeia do Juízo along backroads with beautiful landscapes for fields of cultivation. From Marofa, you can also see the Douro river system (which, beyond this river, includes Côa and Águeda rivers), to the east in valley of this last river. The last stop of this day is Juízo, a typical village Beirã belonging to the parish of Vale do Côa, municipality of Pinhel.

  4. Day4 Cycling Tour 3: Juízo | Marialva | Penedono (38,9 km)

    Today’s bike ride will take you to Penedono. Whichever way the visitor approaches the town of Penedono, be it from the north or the south, they are certain to see the approximately hexagon, gracious and solitary profile of the castle perched on an
    outcrop, dominating its surrounding region. After 10 km you will start do see the Castle of Marialva. This village takes you to the deepest roots of the country’s history in a scenario that reveals one of the living relics of Portuguese ancestry.

  5. Day5 Cycling Tour 4: Praia da Vitória to the Center of the Island (47 km) or Free Day at Praia da Vitória

    Visit the volcanic pit  Algar do Carvão and the fumaroles, Furnas do Enxofre,  Gruta de Natal, Lagoa do Negro, Mistérios Negros, Lagoa das Patas, Centro Interpretação Sta Barbara. Picnic at Lagoa das Patas.

    If you decide to take a break from the bike, there are many activities you can enjoy from Praia da Vitoria: whale watching,  sea kayaking, swimming in the sandy beach, windsurfing, walking or even take in a round of golf.
    If you want to explore by bike you can go to Forte de Santa Catarina and  Porto Martins.

  6. Day6 Cycling Tour 4: Penedono | Pinhão (40,3 km)

    Today bike ride will take you to Pinhão. This village is considered to be the geographical centre of the Douro demarcated wine region, and it is here that many of the Port wine estates are to be found, some of which offer accommodation under the system of rural tourism. Pinhão’s landscape is an UNESCO site and you will have the opportunity to see it from the river during a short boat trip on one of the famous Rabelos.

  7. Day7 Cycling Tour 5: Pinhão | Tabuaço | Tedo | Régua (42,9 km)

    The today’s stage will take you to Peso da Régua along the magnificent Douro Valley. This destination could as easily be called the enchanted valley, such is the beauty and magic that its landscapes offer. You will have a guided visit and wine tasting at a eighteenth century estate.The last stop is Peso da régua. This village is thought that the town´s name originated from the name of a Roman house that once stood here – the “Villa Reguela”.

  8. Day8 Departure

    Morning transfer to Porto.
